Stateline Speedway Expands Schedule to Host Vintage Rumble, a Leading Vintage Racing Event in North America

February 10, 2025  |  by Daniel Nelligan

BUSTI, N.Y. — Stateline Speedway has expanded its racing schedule to include racing on Friday August 8th as it hosts the Vintage Rumble, a national vintage racing event attracting over 70 vintage stock cars from across 15 states and Canada.

When Stateline Speedway revealed its schedule in December, Aug. 9th was slated to host the RUSH Late Model Tour for its second event of the season at the ⅓ mile Busti, NY oval. In January, officials representing the Vintage Rumble contacted Stateline with a request to expand the weekend to accommodate their hallmark two-day event, resulting in the addition of August 8th to the Stateline Schedule.

“With Stateline being one of the few remaining historic short tracks to host a NASCAR race, our fans hold a fond appreciation and respect for racing history and the legacy of stock car racing in general," stated Stateline Speedway owner Bill Catania. “We’re honored to have the opportunity to not only host this event but to partner with the Vintage Rumble to create a new tradition and an event that we can continue to expand for years to come,” stated Catania.

The two-day event will showcase a mix of modern and vintage racing, with more than 70 anticipated entries from 15 states and Ontario, Canada. Competitors will hail from Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Iowa, Delaware, Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina, Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Montana, and New York. Some of the farthest-traveling teams will come from Florida, Montana, Kansas, and Missouri, underscoring the national appeal of the event.

“I want to thank Jim "Dingo" Kirkwood and Dan Savino for coming up with the concept of the Rumble and kicking it off as the Rumble in the Valley back in 2022. With the exception of 2024 because of Hurricane Debby, we’ve grown it every year”, stated Vintage Rumble Promoter & Director, John Howe. “We are very excited for 2025 and look forward to seeing people from Rumbles past and looking forward to meeting all the new folks. We are privileged to have historic Stateline Speedway as our home in 2025 and beyond”, stated Howe.

Stateline Speedway, built in 1956, provides the perfect setting for this vintage racing event. The historic track will allow fans to experience the cars of yesterday and today, bringing a nostalgic atmosphere to the weekend’s competition.

The Vintage Rumble will showcase competition across five racing divisions, including Late Models, Vintage Modifieds, Open Modifieds, OEM Stock Cars, and Sportsman Modifieds, and is expected to attract competitors from 10 different vintage racing clubs and series throughout North America, including:

  • Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour (Canada)
  • East Coast Vintage (Delaware)
  • Central Virginia Dirt Series
  • Virginia/Maryland Vintage Sportsman Series (formerly Potomac)
  • Nostalgia Dirt Series (Iowa)
  • Accord Vintage (New York)
  • Classics on Dirt (New York)
  • PA Thunder on the Dirt
  • Old Skool Kool Vintage Tour
  • Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series

Racing will begin Friday, Aug. 8, with heat races and last chance qualifiers for the Vintage Rumble, along with weekly competition in Pro Stocks, Challengers, Mini Late Models ($1,000 to win) and Open Modifieds.

Saturday, Aug. 9, will feature the RUSH Late Model Touring Series in addition to Vintage Rumble feature events, RUSH Pro Modifieds, RUSH Stock Cars and Super Late Models.
