Stateline Speedway Drops ULMS Sanction for July 5 and Fall Brawl Events

March 21, 2025

BUSTI, N.Y. – Stateline Speedway announced today that its $10,000 to Win Super Late Model specials on July 5th and September 13th will be unsanctioned due to ULMS’ recent decision to drop their open tire rule in favor of an exclusive relationship with American Racer. Under the new rule, ULMS competitors are only permitted to run American Racer tires.

Both events will now be unsanctioned Super Late Model races, adhering to Stateline Speedway’s existing Super Late Model rules, including the new open tire rule. Stateline’s move to an open tire rule, enacted in 2025, aligns with other regional tracks and reflects the strategic direction of Stateline Speedway.

“When I committed to the ULMS events on July 5th and September 13th, I did so with the understanding that ULMS had an open tire rule”, stated Stateline Speedway Owner Bill Catania Jr. “ULMS’ decision to align exclusively with American Racer has significant impact at Stateline as some of our most admired drivers, contractually, cannot run American Racer tires. Given the fan following of these drivers, the race is no longer financially feasible as a ULMS event, and we will promote this as an “unsanctioned” event paying the same $10,000 to win, $32,800 purse”, said Catania. “I have a great deal of respect for the work that Trevor Zuver has done to expand the ULMS series, his vision and work ethic are admirable; his decision was likely a business decision, and so is mine”, stated Catania.

Stateline Speedway remains committed to providing competitive and exciting racing while ensuring consistency with neighboring tracks.
