Michael McGee Tames Modified Mafia Regulars, Posts Biggest Win of his Career

Michael McGee celebrates his $4,000 Modified Mafia Tour win at Stateline

BUSTI, NY - The Modified Mafia Tour made its innaugural visit to Stateline Speedway on July 12th and it was nothing short of spectacular as 37 cars came in search of the $4,000 top prize.

Dave Hess Jr. set fast time with a time of 17.90, followed by Michael McGee, the only other driver to find the "17's" with a time of 17.98. Local racers Hess and McGee transfered to the A Main on their times along with Rich Michael Jr. and series regulars Austin Self, Todd Neiheiser, and Michael Altobelli.

Jamestown's Mason Lobb transferred in through his heat win, along with Ohio's Joel Watson, series point leader Ray Kable, and Chris Arnold from Matoaca, VA.

Transferring through B Main wins were Troy Loomis and Al Brewer.

When the green flag dropped Hess jetted to a dominant lead, with McGee in tow, who kept Hess in his sights. On lap 18 Hess' luck would come to an end, forefiting the lead because of a flat tire caused by a lapped car. This would be the 2nd week in a row that Hess would give up the lead during an epic event at Stateline because of a lapped car, losing the lead a week earlier to Max Blair in the $10,318 to win Super Late Model event, coming home 2nd.

Michael McGee assumed the lead and never looked back, leading the remaining 12 laps and earning the biggest win of his racing career, taking home the $4,000 top prize. Todd Neiheiser would come home 2nd, making the trip from Panama City, FL worth the effort, while Dave Hess Jr. charged from last to 3rd in just 12 short laps.

Corry, PA's Kyle Schreckengost, took home the Non Qualifier win.
