BUSTI, N.Y. — A rare Friday night under the lights set the stage for the inaugural Vintage Rumble at Stateline Speedway, kicking off the two-day event with more than 50 vintage machines plus four regular racing divisions.

While the classic race cars turned heads in the pits, the spotlight for Stateline was on a $1,000-to-win Sharp Mini Late Model feature — and Jesse Isadore made the most of it. Making his first Stateline appearance of the season, Isadore powered from fourth to the front, erasing the sting of the finish in last week’s Charlie Sevrey Memorial at Bradford. He worked past Chris Whyte, Oakley Terril, and Jacob Hinkson in a spirited for the checkered flag and the big payday.

In the Pro Stocks, Jason Black delivered another statement drive. Starting eighth, he sliced through the field, playing spoiler for pole-sitter Gary Fisher a trip to victory lane. Black’s recent form at Stateline has made him the man to beat in the division.

Veteran Pete Volpe once again proved experience still counts. Rolling off fourth, he quickly passed Billi Jo Huffman, Hailey Moore, and John Mease to claim another feature win. Meanwhile, Domingo Echevarria — who suffered a mechanical issue in his heat — charged from deep in the field to gain 12 spots, the largest gain in spots of the night in any class.

The Open Modifieds capped the program with Troy Johnson fending off a late surge from Wyatt Scott, who started fifth, to take the victory in the night’s largest field.

Up next: Stateline Speedway returns to action Aug. 16.
