BUSTI, NY. (September 12, 2025)—From Tri State Auto Racing News
A crisp September evening marked the return of the Fall Brawl at Stateline Speedway, as fans packed the Busti oval one final time in 2025 to see the season close with two nights of action. Night One set the stage with heat races across several divisions, while the Super Late Models, Challengers, and visiting RUSH Sprint Cars delivered full programs alongside special King of the Hills for the RUSH Late Models and Open Modifieds.
The Super Late Models headlined the night, and it was a familiar face back in victory lane. Max Blair, returning to his home track for the Fall Brawl weekend, put on a dominant display by leading every lap of the feature. Still, he had to work to hold off Justin Carlson and Jared Miley, who kept him honest throughout the feature. Behind them, Doug Eck and Wesley McCray thrilled the crowd with charges through the field, each gaining ten positions, while Ryan Scott clawed forward nine spots on the high side in a side-by-side battle with Jon Lee.
The Challengers produced a feel-good moment as veteran Dennis Harrison scored an emotional return to victory lane after time away due to health issues. Harrison fended off John Mease for the win.
But the race of the night — and perhaps of the entire Fall Brawl — belonged to the RUSH Sprint Cars. Sam Priest took the early lead before John Mollick stormed to the front and appeared to be in control. Enter Arnie Kent, who started ninth and carved his way through the field. In the closing laps, Kent and Mollick traded the lead multiple times in a side-by-side duel, before Kent powered ahead to seal what could be the most entertaining race of the weekend.
In the special dashes, Randy Hall edged Max Blair to win the RUSH Late Model King of the Hill, while Mike McGee dominated the Open Modified King of the Hill.
Night One wrapped with heat races in the RUSH Pro Mods, RUSH Late Models, Pro Stocks, and Open Modifieds, setting the table for a massive Night Two card: the $10,000-to-win Super Late Model feature, the return of the EconoMod Mania Tour, a full Challenger program, and remaining feature events that were set by heat races on night 1.
