BUSTI, NY. (September 13, 2025)—It was time to race for the final time in the 2025 oval season at Stateline Speedway with the finale of the Fall Brawl, and while fireworks lit up the September sky, the real sparks flew on track. A packed slate saw heat-race qualifiers from Friday return for feature events, joined by full programs for the Super Late Models, Challengers, and the EconoMod Mania Tour.
At the center of it all was Max Blair, who cemented his status as the weekend’s undisputed star. In the $10,000-to-win Super Late Model feature, Blair once again found himself locked in battle with rival Dave Hess Jr. The two swapped the lead multiple times in heavy traffic, Hess showing strength on the long runs while Blair excelled on restarts. One final short sprint sealed it, with Blair powering ahead to complete the sweep after also winning the RUSH Late Model feature earlier in the night. With that, Blair claimed victory in every Late Model feature across the two-day showcase.
The EconoMod Mania Tour provided its own drama as Dennis Lunger Jr. looked ready to repeat past success, carrying heat race momentum into the feature. Garrett Calvert also set the tone with a heat win, but when the money was on the line it was Brendan “Boo” Warner who rose to the occasion. Outdueling his longtime mentor Lunger in the late stages, Warner pulled away to extend his series points lead.
In Pro Stock action, John Boardman capped his year with a statement drive, holding off Chris Withers and Matt Sampson, who were slicing through the field.
The Challenger feature delivered its share of heartbreak as Dennis Harrison led much of the race before contact with a lapped car handed the advantage to Brandon Huffman, who seized the opening and scored the win. Chris Skobjak impressed with a charge of 10 spots to finish deep inside the top 10, while Noah Zimmerman added his name to the conversation with a strong fourth-place run against the class’s best.
Veteran Al Brewer dominated the RUSH Pro Mod feature, showing his experience on the slick Busti surface to return to victory lane.
And in the Open Modifieds, it was Troy Johnson ending his season in style, holding off a persistent Mike McGee and Greg Johnson to lock down the finale.
