BUSTI, N.Y. — May 26, 2026 — After five consecutive rainouts to start the 2026 racing season, Stateline Speedway is ready to come to life this Saturday night for one of the most anticipated opening nights in recent memory.

The legendary Busti, New York dirt track will officially launch its 70th anniversary season on Saturday, May 30, 2026, with a full night of racing headlined by the RUSH Sprint Car Series, a stacked weekly division lineup, and a $1,000-to-win, $100-to-start Challenger special.

Mother Nature has controlled the early part of Stateline’s spring schedule, forcing multiple postponements and pushing back major events including the Bill Law Memorial and Super Late Model special. But with the weather finally looking favorable, the track is ready, the teams are ready, and the excitement around the region is building for a milestone night at one of Western New York’s most historic racing venues.

“This isn’t just another opening night,” said Bill Catania, owner of Stateline Speedway. “Opening for our 70th consecutive season is a major milestone for Stateline, our fans, our racers, and everyone who has been part of this place for generations. After five straight rainouts, there is a lot of pent-up excitement, and we’re ready to finally get the season started the right way.”

The headline attraction will be the return of the RUSH Sprint Car Series, bringing wingless sprint car action back to Stateline Speedway. The division produced some of the most exciting racing of the 2025 season, including a memorable Fall Brawl feature won by Arnie Kent of New Castle, Pennsylvania, after a race filled with three- and four-wide battles.

Saturday’s program will also showcase a deep field of Stateline divisions, including Super Late Models, RUSH Late Models, UMP Modifieds, RUSH Pro Modifieds, Pro Stocks, RUSH Stocks, and Challengers. The Challenger division will take center stage with added money on the line, racing for $1,000 to win and $100 to start.

The milestone opener follows recent regional media coverage recognizing Stateline’s 70th anniversary season and the anticipation surrounding the speedway’s delayed launch. The Post-Journal noted that the season-opening events have faced repeated weather-related setbacks, while also highlighting Stateline’s long-standing place in the local racing community.
