First-Time SCDRA Northeast Winner Collin Mills Tops 53-Car Field at Stateline Speedway

June 28, 2026  |  by Daniel Nelligan

BUSTI, N.Y. — A “Small Car Showcase” headlined by the SCDRA Northeast Touring Series took center stage at Stateline Speedway as June came to a close. With the Super Late Models, RUSH Late Models, and Pro Stocks getting a rare night off, the spotlight shifted to the SCDRA tour debut, UMP Modifieds, RUSH Pro Mods, a RUSH Stock Car doubleheader, Crown Vics, and Sharp Mini Late Models. Despite track conditions forcing the cancellation of the Sharp Mini Late Model feature, fans were treated to an exceptional night of racing action.

SCDRA Northeast Touring Series Making its highly anticipated debut at the Busti oval, the SCDRA Northeast Tour drew a staggering 53-car field. Collin Mills delivered a flawless performance to sweep the evening’s program. After setting quick time and winning his heat race, Mills rocketed from his third-place starting position in the feature. He successfully fended off relentless challenges from Jacob Wheeler, who clocked the fastest laps of the main event. In victory lane, Mills noted that capturing a win in his first-ever series start—and taking the tour’s inaugural Stateline victory—was “indescribable.” AJ Hoffner earned hard charger honors with a massive 18-position gain through the field. Regional standout Brad Whiteside defended his home turf to finish fourth, while Will Schmid led the local Stateline contingency, racing his way into the A-Main through his heat and finishing 17th.

UMP Modifieds “Money” Mike McGee added another feature victory to his resume in the UMP Modified ranks. McGee capitalized when race leader Wyatt Scott caught the lapped car of Tyler Rendell at the worst possible moment. The traffic jam allowed McGee to execute a slide job past Scott to secure the lead and the eventual win. Further back, Ryan Sanders put on a passing clinic, charging through the pack from a 17th-place starting spot to finish an impressive seventh.

RUSH Pro Mods Heartbreak struck Dave Shagla in the closing seconds of the RUSH Pro Mod feature. Shagla paced the field for 14 and three-quarter laps, successfully holding off a persistent Nick Arnold. However, a slight bobble by Shagla in the final corner of the last lap opened the door just enough for Arnold to sneak by and snatch a dramatic victory.

RUSH Stock Cars The RUSH Stock Car division treated fans to an action-packed doubleheader. In the first feature, Alex Bush out-dueled Darr Diegelman to claim the win. The race was highlighted by a fierce, multi-lap battle between William Baker Jr. and Kaden Michael, which ultimately culminated in contact that tangled their cars and sent both drivers to the rear of the field. In the second feature, Blaze Harrison started on the outside pole, immediately took control, and dominated the race from flag to flag.

Crown Vics Mark Lawrence etched his name into the Stateline Speedway record books, making history as the track’s first-ever Crown Vic feature winner. Lawrence successfully held off Charles Sullivan and Charles Silvis Jr. to secure the milestone victory.

Sharp Mini Late Models Due to deteriorating track conditions, the Sharp Mini Late Models were unable to safely complete their scheduled feature event. The division did manage to run its heat races earlier in the evening, with Trey Whyte taking a heat victory over Oakley Terrill.

Upcoming Schedule Stateline Speedway will celebrate the holiday weekend with a blockbuster event on Saturday, July 4, featuring the highly anticipated “America 250” for the RUSH Late Model Touring Series and $1K to win RUSH Pro Mods, who will enjoy RUSH Manufacturers Night for their division.
