Stateline to Induct Toby Jordan into its Wall of Fame; Legendary Car Builder & Owner

Toby Jordan’s impact on Stateline Speedway extends far beyond the cars he built. Beginning his race-car building career in 1978 and later establishing his own business, Toby became one of the region’s most respected builders, car owners, suppliers, mentors, and racing minds. His cars competed at the front of the field for decades, producing feature wins and championships while earning Toby a reputation for knowing not only how to build a fast racing car, but how to help a driver get the most out of it on the budget they had to work with. Through his and his wife Becky’s unwavering support of the local drivers, Toby also helped extend the racing careers of many drivers. A strong drivers base has led to Stateline’s leading car counts and 70-year legacy.

Over the course of his career, Toby fielded cars for drivers including Chub Frank, Rick Briggs, Craig Briggs, Brian Jordan, Matt Urban, Rich Gardner, and Wendel Pinckney. His influence helped shape the careers of local champions as well as drivers who went on to national success. Whether he was building the car, owning it, setting it up, selling parts, or simply offering advice, Toby helped generations of racers succeed—truly building cars, champions, and careers.

Started Tobber Racing in 1983, full time in 1985
Helped Chub win his first Super Late track championship in 1988
Multiple Limited Late Model track championships with Brian Jordan (93), and Matt Urban (94)
Super Late Car owner for Matt Urban, won Stateline/Eriez/Circuit in 1998 & 1999 – the only team to ever win all 3 championships in SLM competition n consecutive seasons
