On Wednesday, July 8th, Stateline Speedway once again takes center stage on the national dirt racing scene as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series makes its highly anticipated return for the Rick Briggs Memorial. It’s been three years since the Outlaws last roared across Stateline clay, and their return represents one of the most significant racing events in the track’s modern era.
The $15,000-to-win, $1,200-to-start event marks the eighth World of Outlaws Late Model race contested at Stateline since the series’ inaugural visit in 2005. In those seven previous appearances, seven different drivers have claimed victory — John Blankenship (2005), Dick Barton (2006), Shane Clanton (2013), Brandon Sheppard (2018), Max Blair (2019), Dave Hess Jr. (2021), and Nick Hoffman (2023) — a testament to the competitiveness and unpredictability of this historic venue.
This isn’t simply another tour stop, it’s a tribute to Rick Briggs, a homecoming for elite racing, and a return to the national spotlight.

THE WORLD OF OUTLAWS — ELITE TALENT, DEEP ROOTS
The World of Outlaws Late Models represent the highest level of dirt late model competition, featuring championship-caliber drivers with decades of success at the sport’s top tier. The 2026 field will include some of the most accomplished names ever to compete on dirt, blending national champions with drivers who helped define the identity of the series.
That group includes Outlaw veterans and regional standouts like Chub Frank, along with Boom Briggs, proudly continuing his family’s racing legacy. Adding even more significance, the famed Briggs Transport #9 will be piloted by Tim McCreadie, one of the most respected and versatile drivers in modern dirt racing — a combination that brings both national prestige and deep local meaning to the Rick Briggs Memorial.
Yet history has shown time and again: Stateline Speedway is no place for national stars to feel comfortable.
WHERE LOCAL CHALLENGERS RISE
Stateline is renowned as a track where local Super Late Model drivers routinely challenge — and defeat — touring stars, most notably when all-time Stateline winner Dick Barton turned back the Outlaws in 2006. The tight layout, evolving racing surface, and passionate crowd create an environment where experience and fearlessness matter as much as equipment.
On July 8th, the Outlaws won’t just be racing each other — they’ll be defending their reputations against local aces who know every groove and every opportunity this track provides. It’s the classic clash of national prestige versus hometown determination.
WORLD OF OUTLAWS FAN ZONE Fans can experience the full national-tour atmosphere with the World of Outlaws Fan Zone, featuring official merchandise, team gear, sponsor activations, and interactive displays that bring fans closer to the drivers and teams that make this series legendary.
